Engine Will Not Start:

1)Check for Spark. Use a Spark tester or Ground the plug in a position so you can view the electrode when you pull it over. If you have no Spark first check all switches to make sure there are ON and working. Then check for Looses Connections.If that does not work than you may be forced to do some Surgery. First Check the External Coils and wires and if everything checks out check out the Breaker points/Condensors.

2)If you have spark then Check the Following.  Check for fouled plugs

3)Check if it is getting Gas

4)Then Check the Compression. It should be no more than 10PSI difference is each cylinder. Compression should be 110+.

Engine Hard Starting:

1) Fouled/Improperly Gapped Plugs

2)Improperly Adjusted Points

3)Bad Gas

4) Poorly Adjusted/ Constricted Carb

5) Poor Compression

Engine Will Not Idle:

1) Incorrectly adjusted Idle screw

2)Fouled/Improperly Gapped Plugs

3)Low Compression

4)Too much Oil in Gas

5)Leaking Fuel Pump
